As a wedding videographer in Northern Ireland, few places take your breath away quite like Dunluce Castle on the North Coast. When Laci and Hugh reached out from the USA to tell me about their plans to elope in Ireland, I knew this was going to be something truly special.
Hugh, originally from Ireland, wanted to bring Laci back to his roots to celebrate their love in a way that felt authentic, intimate, and timeless. The couple exchanged vows in a quiet field overlooking Dunluce Castle, surrounded by the sound of the waves and the rugged beauty of the Causeway Coast. The soft sea breeze, the laughter, and the emotion in their voices made for a cinematic atmosphere — exactly the kind of story I love to capture on film.
Their ceremony was beautifully led by Lisa Duffy, a celebrant who brought warmth and heart to every word. Working alongside Ciaran at Carn Photo made the day even more enjoyable — his relaxed approach perfectly complemented the flow of the day.
After the ceremony, we travelled to The Shepherds Rest Pub for a cosy and fun-filled reception. Double Parked played during the drinks reception, setting the perfect tone for the evening, and later DJ Damien Groogan kept the dance floor alive into the night. With Adelle Shirley on hair and Celine’s Makeup creating Laci’s effortless bridal look, every detail came together beautifully.
From a filmmaker’s perspective, what stood out most about Laci & Hugh’s day was the combination of emotion and landscape — a reminder of why I love being a Northern Ireland wedding videographer. The cliffs, the light, and the laughter told their story better than words ever could.
If you’re planning to elope in Northern Ireland or dreaming of a wedding along the North Coast, Dunluce Castle is one of those rare places where history, scenery, and romance collide perfectly.
