Charlene and Mark’s wedding day at the Lodge Hotel Coleraine was overflowing with personality, emotion and unforgettable surprises — the kind of day that reminds me why I love being a wedding videographer Northern Ireland.
The morning began in the best possible way. As Charlene was getting her hair done by Karen at Krown Hair Studio, her dad appeared dressed head-to-toe as Santa. The reaction was priceless — laughter, shock, happy tears — and it instantly set a joyful tone for the entire day. Capturing that moment on film was a gift in itself; it was one of those genuine family memories that becomes a treasure in the final wedding video.
With makeup beautifully finished by Claire from Bella Rose Beauty, the morning flowed seamlessly into the ceremony, where another heartfelt moment awaited: a dove release organised by David from Angel Doves. The symbolism combined with the emotion on Charlene and Mark’s faces made this scene especially meaningful to film.
After the ceremony, we travelled to Downhill Beach with Steven Neeson Photography. The sweeping coastline, soft Northern Irish light and relaxed atmosphere created the perfect backdrop for cinematic wedding footage. Charlene’s veil catching the sea breeze and Mark never taking his eyes off her resulted in some truly stunning scenes.
The celebrations continued at the Lodge Hotel Coleraine, a venue that always offers warmth and energy on wedding days. But Charlene had one more surprise planned — this time for everyone else. Partway through the meal, a “waiter” suddenly broke into song, revealing himself as part of Singers Secreto. The guests’ reactions were incredible: jaws dropped, napkins spun in the air, and the entire room came alive. As a videographer, these moments are a dream to capture because they breathe even more life and personality into the final film.
From Santa in the morning to the last burst of music and laughter at the reception, Charlene and Mark’s wedding was unique in every way. It was an honour to craft a film that preserves each moment — big, small, and wonderfully unexpected.
